YouthWork South West is a partnership between some of the main church denominations together with Christian youth and children's organisations working in south west England.

Our primary aim is to provide a high quality day conference each spring for Christian youth and children's workers from across the region, supported by YouthWork magazine.

Our 2012 Conference offers...

   Opening meeting with guest speaker Matt Summerfield, Executive Director of Urban Saints.

   A large choice of workshops during the day, covering a wide range of topics of interest to volunteers working with children and/or teenagers, as well as full-time workers in schools and churches.

   Exhibition area and on-site bookshop - come and browse the latest resources for youth and children’s leaders and meet staff from a wide range of organisations working in the south west of England.

   Evening celebration with guest speaker Rachel Gardner, Director of Romance Academy.
 

Conference Information...

   The Conference is suitable for anyone aged 16 and over who works with children and young people in any age group from 8 upwards.

   The cost is £15 per person for an all-day ticket if booked and paid for by Friday February 17th, or £30 if bought after this or on the day. The ticket price includes light refreshments throughout the day, but lunch and dinner are not included.

   An optional two-course evening buffet is available for just £6, but only if booked and paid for in advance by February 17th. There are also plenty of fast-food outlets nearby.

Our 2012 Day Conference is on Saturday February 25th 2012 at Belmont Chapel, Western Way, Exeter, starting at 9:30 am.

Matt Summerfield is well known as an inspirational and gifted communicator who is passionate about seeing the church envisioned and equipped to reach and release the rising generation of children and young people into their full God-given potential. Matt is on the board of the Evangelical Alliance, is the new chairman of Romance Academy and is a popular speaker at many national conferences.

Rachel Gardner is co-founder and creative director of Romance Academy, a nation-wide sex and relationships education initiative that addresses the underlying causes of risky youth behaviour by promoting the value of stable relationships. She appeared on the BBC’s, 'No Sex Please, We’re Teenagers' programme, which aired in 2005, and is the author of the best-selling book for girls, 'Cherished'.

YWSW 2012 was a huge success, with over 300 attending.

 

The 2013 event will be held on Saturday March 2nd at Belmont Chapel.

Our main speakers in 2013 will be Gavin Calver (National Director, YFC) and Keira Phyo (Head of Youth and Emerging Generations, Tearfund). We will also be running our popular Workshop streams with lots of new content, a new timetable with an earlier finish and an optional buffet at lunch time! Oh, and we are hoping to offer an on-line booking and payment system too.
